Thanks for stopping by. Here's a brief bio of mine. My name is Otto - freelance designer/illustrator. I have been professionally working in the visual art field for 4 years. I was born in Hong Kong, and moved to Vancouver, Canada when I was 15. After graduating from Emily Carr Institute with a BA of media art, I have relocated to Los Angeles in 2003. I spent the first 2 years of college jumping around majors until I settled in the film and video department (which they like to refer it as media art.) Thinking I would be making movies, I moved to L.A. I landed my first job at yU+co. as a graphic designer. They are a motion graphic company producing opening sequence for TV shows, motion pictures and TV commercials. During my 3 years at yU+co., I had a chance to involve with major productions like Catwoman, Shaggy Dog, Desperate Housewives etc. etc. I was mostly involved in drawing storyboards and preping 2d art for animators. I left yU+co. for Titmouse Inc. at the end of 2005. I realized that I want to draw and paint rather than cut and paste. With the experience I gained from my last job, I was hired as a background painter at Titmouse Inc. They are an animation studio, which recently produced 20 episodes of Metalocalpyse for Cartoon Network. I spent most of 2006 painting backgrounds for this porject. Never thought I will be coloring for living, but I truly enjoy what I have been doing. Thinking that I may not be a film maker anytime soon, I statisfy my story telling need by drawing comic strips. Although never publish... but some day, hopefully some day...soon. If you haven't done so, please click around my new site for my porfolio. email: ot@ottotang.com |
